January 6 – With the 12 days of Christmas
now over, those who want to take their trees down can take
advantage of the City’s various recycling services.
Santa Monicans can drop off their trees at four City parks
-- Clover, Douglas, Christine Reed and Los Amigos -- as
well as at the City's Refuse and Recycling Transfer Station
transfer station at 2401 Delaware Avenue.
Residents with curbside recycling are asked to cut their
trees after removing the tinsel, ornaments and stands and
place them in their yard waste collection containers.
Trees can be dropped off at the parks during the month of
January.
The City's transfer station is open Monday through Saturday,
from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The station will be closed on New
Year’s Day.
It is against the law to leave trees, which are a potential
fire hazard, on curbs or in alleys, City officials said.
